Snowy weekend fun for the Sunday Times Travel Magazine
It’s always a surprise to see your own photos in print - especially the kind of glossy magazine print that really brings out the detail and vivid colour. So I was pleasantly surprised in December 2009 when I got a call from the Sunday Times Travel Magazine’s picture desk informing me that ‘quite a few’ of my photos would be used in their February 2010 edition.

Me? Photos? Lots of them? Although I had done the shoot with a bunch of friends last April in the Cotswolds, I thought it was just a bit of fun and that it was unlikely the photos would get published. But hey, in the world of journalism it’s not what you know, it is of course who you know. And yes, my good chum Brian Schofield - journalist, novelist, photographer - had luckily organised the whole weekend.
So several months later the February 2010 Sunday Times Travel Magazine contains several of my Cotswolds photos (the monthly glossy, not the supplement every Sunday) - all of which I have to say look rather good.

And for the weekend itself? Great fun. Picture a Cotswolds country weekend involving 4 young families, plenty of wine and generous helpings of baby food. Brian’s piece is all about how to have an affordable and very comfortable weekend away in an uber-posh country house by getting it at the right time (April) before prices start ramping up (yes it was a real experience not fabricated for the story).
Anyway, all in all a great read and those photos aren’t too bad either (see the full set).
